Minnesota has announced that more than a dozen players and members of their coaching staff have tested positive for COVID-19 since their previous update a few days ago.
This report comes courtesy of Ryan Burns, who’s a Gophers writer for 247Sports:
Minnesota Football announces that an additional 15 (!!) individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 since its previous update on Nov. 25.
In total, since Nov. 19, Minnesota has had 40 individuals (20 student-athletes and 20 staff members) test positive for COVID-19.
Holy cow.

Minnesota already had to cancel their game against Wisconsin this Saturday due to positives within their program.
With this latest update though, it’s hard to see the Gophers game against Northwestern next Saturday happening as all 40 of those individuals would not be able to participate. There’s the very real possibility that they wouldn’t have enough players to actually play the game.
If that game is canceled, it would send Northwestern to the Big Ten Championship game as no one would be able to catch them. A fitting way to clinch a division title in 2020, isn’t it?
