Minnesota DT returns to practice after brief absence

After a brief absence from the field, a Minnesota defensive tackle has reportedly returned to the field.
On Tuesday, Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press reported that defensive tackle Rashad Cheney, one of the top members of Minnesota’s 2019 recruiting class, has returned to practice. He missed at least one day of camp while working through an off-the-field issue.
That situation was not made public.

Cheney is a 6-foot-2, 275-pound defensive tackle out of Atlanta. He was a three-star prospect, but could quite possibly make an immediate impact for the Golden Gophers.
Per his recruiting rankings on 247Sports, Cheney was one of the top 500 players in the 2019 class and was the No. 34 defensive tackle of the cycle. He was also a top 50 player out of Georgia.
Minnesota will open the season on Aug. 29 against South Dakota State.
