Minnesota gets verbal commitment from 2023 RB with offers from nearly 30 programs

Minnesota’s 2023 class has added a running back commit.

Tuesday, the Golden Gophers received a verbal pledge from 3-star running back Darius Taylor. The Walled Lake, Mich. native picked Minnesota over offers from 27 other offers. He becomes the third player of the cycle to commit to PJ Fleck and staff.

Taylor made his announcement public with multiple posts on social media.

Minnesota beat several programs for Taylor’s commitment, including Iowa, Louisville, Maryland, Michigan State, Pitt, Purdue, Rutgers, Syracuse, Wisconsin and many others.

Taylor is listed as a 5-foot-11, 187-pound running back. The 3-star ball carrier ranks as the No. 31 player at his position and is considered a Top 15 prospect out of Michigan.
