Minnesota added a major piece to its 2024 recruiting class on Tuesday night.

The Golden Gophers picked up a commitment from 3-star lineman Riley Sunram. He chose Minnesota over offers from programs like Miami, Missouri, Kansas State and Nebraska, amongst others.

The North Dakota native has played both offensive line and defensive line. Here’s his announcement:

He’s listed at 6-foot-4, 265 pounds. He attends Kindred High School in Kindred, North Dakota.

Sunram is a major addition for the Golden Gophers. He currently ranks as the No. 481 overall player in the country for the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 1 player from North Dakota.

Sunram initially received an offer from Minnesota last summer. He’s taken multiple trips to campus, including one earlier this month.

He is now Minnesota’s top ranked commitment in the class of 2024. The Golden Gophers currently stand at 8 commitments in the cycle. The group ranks No. 18 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Here are some highlights from his junior season:
