Everyone knows Ohio State is one heck of a challenge to go up against and that includes Gophers linebacker Mariano Sori-Marin.

He spoke earlier on Thursday to the media about the Buckeyes and how physical and fast they are, which presents a huge challenge.

The Gophers are going to have to install some kind of defense if they’re going to upset the Buckeyes opening week. The last time these two teams played was in 2018 when Minnesota allowed OSU to put up 30 points against them in a loss.

The makeup of the two teams is different at this time, but the Buckeyes are still as good as ever with players such as Master Teague and Chris Olave back in the fold.

As for Sori-Marin, he’ll likely be one of the best players on Minnesota’s defense not just for that game but also for the entire season. He’s coming off the best season of his college career in 2020 when he finished with 54 total tackles (28 solo) with 1 forced fumble and 3 passes defended.

Kickoff between these two teams will be on Sept. 2 at 8 p.m. ET.
