Minnesota’s 2024 recruiting class has suffered a noteworthy decommitment. Aaron Philo, a Class of 2024 quarterback prospect out of Georgia, backed off his pledge to the Gophers.
Philo, from Bogart, Georgia, pledged to play for P.J. Fleck’s program back on March 2. He announced his decommitment on Monday evening via his Twitter account.

Philo, out of Prince Avenue Christian School, is listed as measuring 6-2, 200 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Philo is rated 3-stars, the No. 63 quarterback, No. 89 Georgia recruit and No. 1,030 prospect overall nationally in the 2024 recruiting class.
It is not immediately evident what made Philo change his mind about being committed to Minnesota. There are no signs of new scholarship offers or recruiting visits since his March commitment listed on his Twitter page or 247Sports recruiting profile.
Philo also has scholarship offers from Georgia Tech, UCF, Liberty, Coastal Carolina, Georgia Southern, UConn and Arkansas State.
