Minnesota named finalist for No. 1 in-state prospect in Class of 2026

Minnesota football was named a finalist for Class of 2026 4-star ATH Roman Voss on Wednesday. Voss, a native of Jackson, Minnesota, will choose between the Crimson Tide and his home state Minnesota Golden Gophers.
Naturally, Voss is considered to be the No. 1 overall prospect out of Minnesota and is the No. 208 overall prospect in the 2026 cycle according to 247Sports.
Voss does a little bit of everything for Jackson County Central HS at 6-4, 220 pounds. He played under center in Wildcat formation, linebacker, tight end, running back – you name it, he starred for JCCHS. Thanks to his abilities with the football in his hands Voss collected offers from top schools such as Auburn, Oklahoma, Miami, USC and Wisconsin alongside the Golden Gophers and Crimson Tide.
Minnesota’s 2026 class has been solid so far. The Golden Gophers so far have the No. 26 overall class in the country and already hold a pledge from Andrew trout, the No. 2 player out of Minnesota.
Voss has official visits to both Alabama and Minnesota upcoming. He’ll visit Minnesota on May 30 before visiting Alabama on June 13.
