Minnesota preparing for Saturday’s winter-like weather in unique fashion

You wouldn’t think Minnesota would really have to go to very extreme measures to prepare for cold weather. Just being in Minnesota would be enough.
But P.J. Fleck and his staff want to make sure that his players are prepared for the winter-like weather headed straight for Minneapolis this weekend. Having to battle Nebraska is tough enough, the weather will be an added challenge.
So, in an attempt to have guys ready for the 38 degree temperature and potential rain and snow combination, Fleck is pulling out some tricks. According to Matt Jessen-Howard of Minnesota Rivals, defensive lineman Carter Couhglin says coaches have been pouring ice water on players during practice.
Fleck noted during his weekly presser that the indoor practice facility temperature has been cooled down to its lowest point, which is somewhere in the upper 50s.

That won’t quite replicate Saturday’s expected conditions, but it’s close.
Minnesota puts its 5-0 record on the line on Saturday against Nebraska, which enters the game with a 4-2 record. Both teams are coming off wins, with the Gophers defeating Illinois and Nebraska downing Northwestern.
