A stat was posted on Twitter by Brett McMurphy of Action Network on Tuesday that details the teams in college football with the longest current winning streaks. Minnesota is in the Top 5 among all the schools listed.
The Golden Gophers are tied for the 3rd-best winning streak on the list, with 6 games in a row coming into the Michigan State game.
P.J. Fleck has Mohamed Ibrahim back, and the Golden Gophers running back isn’t fooling around this season. Ibrahim has 464 yards rushing with 7 touchdowns on the season so far. Fleck will now have to deal with the loss of top receiver Chris Autman-Bell, however.
Autman-Bell suffered a season-ending leg injury against Colorado. He could come back next season if he completes a waiver requesting eligibility for a seventh year.
The race for the B1G West is going to be tight this season. Northwestern is currently in the lead after beating Nebraska in Week 0, but Minnesota could climb the standings with a win over the Spartans.
Minnesota’s win streak will be on the line Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on BTN.
