A season ago, Minnesota running back Mo Ibrahim was part of a committee of running backs that terrorized opponents.
This season, Ibrahim is frustrating defenses on his own. He’s taking the main running role for the Gophers and has done so in a big way through three games.
In Saturday’s win over Illinois, Ibrahim ran wild as he went for 224 yards and four touchdowns on 30 carries. That yard total is a career high.
Both Fleck and Ibrahim spoke after the win.
Fleck on Ibrahim:
"I think he's one of the most special backs in America"
"He can see and feel blocks and holds."
"He is a very selfless player." #Gophers

Ibrahim:
"We took it one day at a time. Got my body right and when we got here yesterday I felt great." #Gophers

Currently, Ibrahim leads the Big Ten with 571 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Heading into the season, the story of the Minnesota offense centered around wide receiver Rashod Bateman. But now it’s a mix between Bateman and Ibrahim.
