Minnesota’s running back room juggled multiple injuries throughout 2021, including season-ending injuries to Mohamed Ibrahim and Trey Potts.
On Tuesday, Potts went public to discuss what he called “a very serious injury” sustained during the game against Purdue. Fortunately, Potts is making a full recovery from that injury.
“Over the last two months, I’ve been going through a tough time in my life after suffering from a very serious injury mid-season that cut my season short,” wrote Potts on Instagram. “I am blessed and fortunate to be healthy and making a full recovery.”
Potts went on to say that he is thankful to be back with the team and will be in attendance for the bowl game. He also hinted at his return to the field next season:
“With not being able to be attend some games this year, I am happy to announce I will be at the Guaranteed Rate Bowl with my team,” Potts explained.
“Lastly, see you in 2022.”
