Minnesota just completed its most successful football season since 1904, finishing with an 11-2 record and an Outback Bowl victory over Auburn. But the Gophers’ success isn’t limited to the field.

P.J. Fleck’s squad is enjoying a lot of success in the classroom, as well.

On Monday, Fleck tweeted out some of Minnesota’s academic accomplishments during the fall semester of 2019. The team is setting football program records.

According to a graphic put together by Minnesota, the Gophers produced a 3.21 grade point average (GPA) during the fall, a new program record. Minnesota’ cumulative GPA is listed as 3.17, which is also a program record.

There are also 86 student-athletes who have a GPA over 3.0 and 53 players were named Academic All-B1G selections. There were two Academic All-Americans, as well.

Fleck is known for having a strong culture and often refers to Minnesota as having a “life program,” not just a football program. After those high marks in the classroom and tremendous success on the field, Fleck’s message is really getting across.
