Thrashing the Nebraska Cornhuskers, 34-7, on Saturday, the Minnesota Golden Gophers social media team took part in some wordplay following the program’s move to 6-0.

Take a look:

Led by redshirt senior Rodney Smith, the Gophers shredded Nebraska’s defense to the tune of 322 yards rushing.

Not asked to do much, redshirt sophomore quarterback Tanner Morgan completed 8-13 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown pass to classmate Chris Autman-Bell.

Likely to move into the top-25 with the win, the Gophers travel to Piscataway to face Rutgers (1-5) on October 19 (3:30PM ET, BTN).

Playing without sophomore quarterback Adrian Martinez, the Huskers accumulated 299 yards of offense. Making his first career start, redshirt sophomore Noah Vedral connected on 14-23 attempts for 135 yards. Finishing with 28 yards on nine carries (3.1 AVG), redshirt junior Dedrick Mills scored Nebraska’s only touchdown of the night.

Now just one game above .500 at 4-3, Nebraska returns home to face Indiana (4-2) on Saturday.
