Minnesota has a fresh look for New Mexico State. The Gophers revealed its uniform combination ahead of Thursday night’s game.
The Gophers will roll out an all-maroon look, including a maroon facemask on a matte maroon helmet. The helmet also features the traditional gold “M” logo for Minnesota.

Pretty nice if you ask me. Minnesota is looking for another big year after going 9-4 (6-3 B1G) last season. The Gophers closed out the year with a victory over West Virginia in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
Will these unis give them some luck in 2022? Much of that might fall through the hands of quarterback Tanner Morgan.
The senior QB threw for 2,044 yards and 10 touchdowns to 9 interceptions last season. Morgan’s 27 wins are the most by a Minnesota quarterback in recorded history. His consistency will be a big key to the Gophers’ season.
The Gophers also return Mohamed Ibrahim at running back. The 5-foot-10, 210-pound RB will be looking for redemption after rupturing his Achilles tendon in last season’s opener against Ohio State. Ibrahim rushed for 1,076 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2020.
After the Aggies, Minnesota will get a break before facing Colorado on Sept. 17.
