Minnesota vs. Iowa is still a little way out on the horizon with the annual rivalry set for Week 8. The battle for Floyd of Rosedale is always a fun matchup and intense rivalry, and this year should be no different.

On Monday, the B1G set the majority of the Week 8 schedule with kickoff times and broadcast allocations. The Gophers and Hawkeyes will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET but the broadcast designation received a “TBD” entering Week 7. Another 3:30 p.m. game — Wisconsin vs. Illinois — is currently set as TBD.

Under normal circumstances, that would not be particularly noteworthy. However, under the B1G’s new television deal, one of those games is likely set to receive a Peacock-only streaming designation.

The other 3:30 p.m. matchup (Northwestern vs. Nebraska) is already set for a BTN broadcast. Minnesota and Iowa could still receive a broadcast via traditional options, but Peacock looks possible ahead of time.

At the end of the day, streaming is an aspect of the B1G Media Rights Deal that fans will have to continue to adjust to and live with moving forward, but it has created some frustration among fans. So far this season, Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State have already received broadcasts limited to Peacock.
