Minnesota’s Goldy Gopher appears to throw shade at Bucky Badger following Paul Chryst firing

A B1G mascot had some fun on Sunday when the news about Paul Chryst broke. Chryst was fired following a 2-3 start to the season.
It was Bucky Badgers birthday on Sunday, and it was definitely one to remember with Chryst getting fired on the day of.
Minnesota’s mascot, “Goldy Gopher”, sent Bucky some birthday wishes. There may have been a hint of sarcasm.
“Hey Bucky Badger, I hope your birthday was full of fun and surprises!” said the mascot.

Many of the comments loved it. There were even some pretty good puns in the comments section. There’s no love lost between the two B1G West mascots it seems.
This could have been in response to what Bucky said on Sept. 28 reminding everyone about his birthday.
I sure hope no one throws a surprise birthday party to celebrate my birthday on my birthday which is Sunday!

It’s worth noting that Wisconsin and Minnesota play each other in the last game of the season on Nov. 26. Maybe Bucky and Goldy will make amends in Madison.
