Nebraska got a big-time commitment on Wednesday from one of the best players in Minnesota.

Running back Emmett Johnson, better known as “Minnesota’s Mr. Football” committed to the Cornhuskers and confirmed that he’s also going to get a look on kick returns as well.

Johnson spoke to Trieu in that same story above and confirmed that he’s hoping to come in and compete immediately to start.

“They showed me on the board who the running backs are that are coming back and who I would have to beat to play,” he said. “They said nothing is given but as long as I come in, work hard in spring ball, I could have a great opportunity and they would have the opportunity to return kickoffs and punts as well.”

Johnson is the No. 8 player in Minnesota and the No. 80 running back recruit in the country, per 247Sports Composite. He’s also the No. 1,055 player overall, regardless of position.
