Minnesota wasn’t able to come away with a victory against Michigan in Week 1, but Preston Jelen was one of the bright spots.
The sophomore running back made his presence felt on special teams with a blocked punt during the game’s opening drive.
Jelen discussed the play and more in an interview with Gopher Radio Network’s Mike Grimm:

“They were lined up in a way that was going to allow me to get to that block spot on that play and all 11 guys executed their jobs perfectly,” Jelen said. “It was an awesome moment and a good experience to have with my teammates.”
Jelen, who is from Prior Lake, described playing for hometown Minnesota as a “dream opportunity”.
Jelen and Minnesota will attempt to get their first victory of the season when they face host Maryland tonight (6:30 p.m./ESPN).
