Minnesota wide receiver Rashod Bateman had the opportunity to show off his speed during the team’s pro day on Thursday. He didn’t disappoint, either.
Bateman posted a 4.39 unofficial time in the 40-yard dash during Minnesota’s pro day. That’s a pretty good time for the former Gopher, who is expected be a second-round selection during the 2021 NFL Draft.

Bateman had an outstanding career at Minnesota and emerged as one of college football’s top receivers in 2019. During that 11-2 season, Bateman finished the season with 1,219 yards and 11 touchdowns on 60 receptions, posting an impressive 20.3 yards per catch.
Last season, Bateman played in 5 games for the Golden Gophers and still had 36 catches for 472 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his three seasons with the program, he totaled 2,395 yards and 19 touchdowns on 147 receptions. He averaged more than 16 yards per grab.
This year’s draft class is loaded with talent at the wide receiver position, but Bateman is still one of the best at his craft.
