Minnesota’s reclaiming of the Axe is even better with Titanic music

Minnesota has turned things around in the rivalry series vs. Wisconsin after an upset win Saturday night.

After watching the Badgers win 14 straight in the Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe, the Gophers have gone 2-2 in the past 4 rivalry contests. The latest win also gives head coach PJ Fleck 2 wins in 5 games vs. Wisconsin.

While a B1G West title did not materialize, Minnesota improved to 8-4 for an adversity-riddled season. The Gophers will also draw a decent bowl game with some extra practice to work and improve with an eye toward 2022.

For now, Minnesota – and the fans – can enjoy the over their rivals. The Gophers already trolled the Badgers directly after the game’s end with a special playing of “Jump Around.”

Now, Minnesota has set the scene of the Gophers rushing to grab the Axe to music from The Titanic. Minnesota is all about boats, and this is a pretty epic move, to say the least.
