Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium all safe following alleged bomb threat

The folks inside TCF Bank Stadium on the campus of the University of Minnesota had a major scare on Thursday.
The school was notified of a bomb threat via phone call on Thursday around 2:15 p.m. ET. After an immediate evacuation of the facility, nothing suspicious was found.

This news came via the St. Paul Pioneer Press. At the time the threat was called in, there were a small number of people inside the facility preparing for Friday night’s game between Minnesota and Iowa.
Shortly after the call, the university issued a public safety alert, warning people to stay away from the facility. Once the facility was searched thoroughly for more than an hour, the facility was deemed safe at 3:30 p.m. ET.
It seems likely at this point the next step will be investigators trying to find who made the threat and prosecute as they can.
Though the threat was unfound, it seems like there will be heightened security surrounding the facility as the Gophers and Hawkeyes are set to play there on Friday evening.
