Missouri is playing Wake Forest in the Gasparilla Bowl on Dec. 23. The Tigers are planning on doing something special to honor the late Mike Leach during the game.
St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Dave Matter revealed that Missouri will be honoring Leach’s legacy with a sticker on the back of its helmets.
The sticker will have the name “Mike” on it with the “I” as a pirate themed cowbell. Mississippi State football is known for its use of cowbells during game days. Leach was also called “The Pirate” by many who knew him.

The Bulldogs will be facing Illinois on Jan. 2 in the ReliaQuest Bowl at Raymond James Stadium. “The Pirate” will surely be watching his former team play at the home of Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Leach sadly passed away on Dec. 12 due to complications with a heart condition. His legacy throughout the college football world will be remembered for years to come. Leach led the Bulldogs to an 8-4 record and a third place finish in the SEC West before his passing.
Kickoff from the Gasparilla Bowl will be at 6:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
