Miyan Williams gashes Minnesota defense for OSU’s first TD of 2021

Though all eyes were on quarterback C.J. Stroud in his first collegiate start, Ohio State’s first big play came via the legs of running back Miyan Williams.
The Buckeye offense started the drive with a couple of short passes by Stroud. He was able to move the chains on a short throw to Jaxon Smith-Njigba before a deep attempt went off the hands of a diving Garrett Wilson.
Then, Williams took over. On a third-down play, Williams took a handoff going around the right side of the line.
The blocking was beautiful and left Williams with just one man to beat. He handled the Minnesota defender with a stiff arm before racing by the rest of the Gopher defense.
The run went for 71 yards and Ohio State’s first score of 2021. Check it out:
