Mohamed Ibrahim’s return to the field in the 2022 season opener is a sight for sore eyes to every Minnesota fan. Ibrahim’s also back to making an elite impact for the Gophers.

Early on, Ibrahim put up the first points of the season for the Gophers. He punched in a short rushing touchdown to make it 7-0 and is his first score since a season-ending injury in Week 1 last year.

That was not all the first half held in store for Ibrahim. He carried the ball 19 times for 121 yards and 2 touchdowns, extending his streak of 100-yard games to 10.

That stretch dates back to the bowl game following the 2019 season.

With Minnesota up 24-0 over New Mexico State at the break, he might not get much of a chance to add to the total in the second half. Either way, it is a successful return for Ibrahim, and a solid start to the year for the running back to build on heading forward.
