The Uconn football program has been in turmoil the past few days.

They lost 38-28  to FCS opponent Holy Cross at home on Saturday. They also lost to Fresno State 45-0 on the road in week 0 to start the season 0-2.

Head coach Randy Edsall in his second stint with the team decided initially he would step down at the end of the year.

Then on Sunday, Edsall decided he would step down from the team immediately. You can read more of the Edsall story here.

Defensive coordinator Lou Spanos will be the interim head coach for the Huskies.

Spanos has already made a change at QB before their week 2 matchup against the Purdue Boilermakers.

Redshirt sophomore Steven Krajewski will make the start Saturday for the Huskies. Krajewski is replacing sophomore Jack Zergiotis, who started the first two games of the season.

Zergiotis in 2 games with the Huskies is 29-65 for a 44.6% completion rate. He has 235 yards on the season with 3 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

Krajewski is a 6-foot-4, 205 pound QB out of Moultrie, GA. He was a 3-star recruit and the No.53 pro-style QB in the 2018 class, according to 247sports composite rankings.

The Huskies opponent, the Boilermakers, started the season 1-0 with a victory against Oregon State 30-21 last Saturday.

The Huskies and the Boilermaker square off at 3:00 ET on CBSSN.
