More Madness? Another double-digit seed is threatening massive upset in NCAA Tournament

No. 11-seeded Syracuse is threatening another major upset in the NCAA Tournament.
The Orange currently hold a 35-29 halftime lead over No. 3-seeded West Virginia. Syracuse was up by double digits for most of the first half, but the Mountaineers were able to close the gap late before the break.
This NCAA Tournament has seen more double-digit seeds pull off upsets than usual. Oral Roberts, Ohio, North Texas, Abilene Christian, UCLA, Maryland, Rutgers, Oregon State and this Syracuse team have already won games as a double-digit seed.
And that’s not counting Loyola-Chicago, who knocked off No. 1-seeded Illinois earlier on Sunday.
Syracuse has a history of making deep Tournament runs, though. The Orange made the Elite Eight as an 11-seed in 2018 and the Final Four as a 10-seed in 2016. Jim Boeheim’s famous zone defense tends to make things difficult for opposing teams in March.
This game could have Big Ten implications, too. If Rutgers is able to pull off an upset vs. Houston, the Scarlet Knights would face the Syracuse-West Virginia winner in the Sweet 16.
