The numbers continue to soar when it comes to the NCAA transfer portal.

With the college basketball season coming to a close, the number of players who have decided to explore their options continues to rise. As of Saturday, the total was approaching 1,100.

Verbal Commits continues to track the growing number of men’s college basketball student-athletes who have entered the transfer portal. While there’s already more than 1,000 names in the portal, there’s a chance that number grows even higher when the season concludes.

The creation of the transfer portal and the NCAA’s one-time transfer rule has made the process much easier for student-athletes in all sports. It’s also put the number of transfers at an all-time high in college athletics.

Some players may choose to withdraw and return to their current institution. Typically, though, once a player hits the portal, it’s unlikely he returns.
