Michigan State was in a sticky situation at the punter position heading into the 2020 season, but they may have received some answers this week.

Former UTEP punter and graduate transfer Mitchell Crawford told Rivals that he’ll be joining the Spartans roster this year. As a graduate transfer, he’ll be immediately eligible for the 2020 season.

Crawford, an Australian-style punter, was a two-year starter at the punter position at UTEP. He brings the kind of experience Michigan State lacks with Jake Hartbarger departing with his eligibility up.

Earlier this week, Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press reported that Jack Bouwmeester was no longer on the MSU roster. He was also an Australian-style punter.

Last season, Crawford punted 61 times and averaged 39.6 yards per kick. He also landed 13 punts inside the 20-yard line.
