Apparently beating Ohio State in Columbus is a pretty big deal.
It was in the eyes of the Associated Press voters, who moved Michigan State all the way up to No. 6 following their upset victory in Columbus on Saturday.
The Spartans earned that spot after holding an Urban Meyer-led offense to its lowest offensive output ever. In total, MSU only allowed five first downs and two in the entire second half.
The victory marked the Spartans second over a top 15-team on the road, and third against a top-25 opponent this season.
With the win, Michigan State hurdled past Ohio State, which fell to No. 9. Iowa, on the other hand, moved up to No. 3 while Michigan earned the No. 12 spot.
Northwestern came in at No. 17 to round out the five B1G teams in the top 25.
The Spartans will have a chance to get back to Indianapolis next Saturday with a win against Penn State.
