Just in case you forgot, Michigan and Michigan State still don’t like each other. This latest incident won’t help that.

Michigan State officials were informed of that the Spartan statue had been defaced with a blue ‘M’ and with yellow spray paint that read the Greek letters, Alpha Omega.

Here’s a look at the overnight spray paint job.

A little cross-campus prank war isn’t uncommon, but Michigan and Michigan State don’t even play each other until Oct. 17. The No. 5 Spartans, of course, will host ESPN’s College GameDay for their showdown against No. 7 Oregon on Saturday night.

The statue is expected to make a full clean recovery before then.
