Last season, No. 8 Michigan State ranked 13th in the B1G in rushing yards per game and had an average of just 2.5 yard per carry.
Enter Kenneth Walker III from Wake Forest, via the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Walker III entered Saturday’s game with No. 6 Michigan ranking first in the B1G and second in the NCAA in rushing yards with 997 yards on his stat-line. Obviously, it didn’t take long for Walker III to cross the 1,000-yard mark. The accomplishment makes Walker III the first MSU running back to eclipse the total since Jeremy Langford in 2013 and 2014.
Kenneth Walker III now 10 carries for 85 yards and two TDs. He becomes MSU's first RB to reach 1,000 yards rushing since Jeremy Langford in 2013 and 2014.

The move to the transfer portal by Walker III took place on Jan. 5, 2021, and it only took him one day to announce his plans to play for MSU coach Mel Tucker.
During his two years at Wake Forest, Walker III tallied 1,158 yards on 217 carries, with 17 touchdowns.
So far in 20201, Walker III has four games with 120 rushing yards or more, which includes two games of over 200 yards. At this pace, he should surpass his totals from Wake well before this season ends.
