Ohio State lost to Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl 29-23.
Urban Meyer, now a FOX college football analyst, was at the game. Why? In part because he was the head coach of the Buckeyes prior to Ryan Day taking over the program.
He was shown as a viewer of the game toward the end of the contest on the broadcast. After the game ended, ESPN had the clip of Meyer being present in its highlight package.

John Anderson, an ESPN anchor who was doing the highlight package, made a joke about Meyer:
“Look at Urban Meyer. He was going to spend time with his family, went to this game instead,” Anderson joked.
The comment was likely in reference to Meyer leaving the head coaching spot at Florida to spend time with his family only to become the coach at Ohio State a year later. Needless to say, multiple members of Meyer’s family were unhappy with the dig.
Here’s Meyer’s daughter, Nicki:

But we were all there the entire week… In fact, probably been spending too much time together 😂 but keep ‘em coming @espn ❤️ https://t.co/BFmkmopNbq

Want to make a dig at Meyer? Feel free. But if it involves his family, expect some push-back from the ones that love him most.
