One of the nation’s top pro-style quarterbacks in the 2021 recruiting class is back on the market.

This week, 4-star quarterback Jake Garcia announced on social media that he has decommitted from USC and will re-open his recruitment. He says there is “still love” for the Trojans but that he needs time to reconsider his options.

“I want to thank Coach Helton, Coach Harrell, and Coach Doege and the USC coaching staff for the opportunity to play at the next level,” Garcia wrote. “However, after many discussions with my family and careful consideration, I am de-committing from USC. Doing so will allow me to honestly evaluate my options as the early signing date quickly approaches. No love has been lost for the USC family.”

Garcia is ranked as the No. 46 overall prospect in the 2021 class and is ranked as the No. 5 pro-style quarterback, as well. The Loganville, Georgia native is also listed as the No. 5 player from his home state, as well.

Several big-name programs have made their pitch to the elite quarterback. Four B1G schools have offered Garcia, including Indiana, Nebraska, Ohio State and Purdue. Other programs to offer are Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Miami, Arizona State, Florida, Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, Oregon and Texas, among others.

Could a B1G program wiggle its way back into the conversation?
