Emmert’s previous contract had been through October 2023 with an option through 2024. The decision was unanimous to extend the NCAA president’s contract.
The NCAA has come under scrutiny recently for its struggle to push the name, image, likeness bill to allow student-athletes to profit. The association has explored options to allow players to have more freedom, but no real decisions have been made at this time.
