The Big Ten is dominant in women’s college volleyball year after year, and it looks like 2022-23 will be no different. The NCAA Volleyball Tournament field was announced Sunday evening and 6 B1G teams made the cut.
Here are the 6 teams, their seed and their first-round opponent:
- No. 1 Wisconsin, plays Quinnipiac
- No. 2 Minnesota, plays Southeastern LA.
- No. 2 Nebraska, plays Delaware St.
- No. 3 Ohio State, plays Tennessee St.
- No. 4 Penn State, plays UMBC
- No. 8 Purdue, plays Tennessee
As you can see, Wisconsin was able to snag one of the 4 top seeds in the tournament. The badgers finished the season 25-3 with losses to Minnesota, Baylor and Florida. The Badgers have not lost since Sept. 25, winning their last 18.
Minnesota is on a similar hot streak, having won 7 of their last 8 to earn a No. 2 seed alongside Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are 24-5 on the season but have lost 2 straight to Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Here’s the full field of 64.
