Nebraska adds 2024 commitment from 4-star DB out of Texas

Matt Rhule’s staff continues to work the recruiting trail in Texas. Nebraska has picked up commitment No. 8 for its 2024 recruiting class.
Mario Buford, a blue-chip defensive back, has pledged to play for the Huskers. He made the announcement Thursday evening.

Out of DeSoto (Texas), Buford is listed at 5-11, 165 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Buford is rated 4-stars, the No. 28 cornerback, No. 56 Lone Star State recruit and No. 327 prospect overall nationally in the Class of 2024.
Buford has picked up 18 scholarship offers during his recruitment. Ahead of his commitment, he named a final 7 of Nebraska, Washington, Penn State, Arkansas, Michigan State, Oregon and Illinois.
Buford was recently in Lincoln to check out the Huskers facilities.
