Nebraska just added a commitment from one of the 15 highest-rated wide receivers in the Class of 2027. Khalil Taylor, who at one point was committed to Penn State, announced his pledge to Matt Rhule and the Cornhuskers on Monday.

As you can see below, Taylor also chose the Huskers over offers from Colorado, Alabama and Florida State, to name a few. He decommitted from Penn State in October of 2025.

Taylor stands at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds and plays for Pine-Richland high school in Gibsonia, Pennsylvania, which is located just north of Pittsburgh. He’s the 22nd commitment of the cycle for Nebraska, and the 3rd highest-rated prospect to commit to Nebraska in the 2027 class behind only 5-star QB Trae Taylor and 4-star ATH Troy Pittman.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Taylor is considered to be the No. 84 prospect in the country, as well as the No. 13 wide receiver and the No. 4 player out of the state of Pennsylvania.

Taylor is the 3rd addition to Nebraska’s WR corps this recruiting cycle, joining 3-star WR Antayvious Ellis and 3-star receiver Justyn Lindsay. While 4-star ATH Pittman is likely to play safety at the next level, he could suit up at receiver as well.
