Scott Frost and the Huskers are getting some help on defense.

On Wednesday, 247Sports reported that junior college linebacker Eteva Mauga-Clements has given his verbal pledge to Nebraska. That’s a nice addition to the 2020 class for Frost and company, as the Huskers struggled at the linebacker position all throughout the 2019 season.

Mauga-Clements is a 6-foot-2, 218-pound linebacker from Diablo Valley College, where he spent the last two seasons. He had five offers from FBS programs, picking Nebraska over New Mexico, Southern Miss, San Diego State and South Alabama.

He does not currently have any rankings on 247Sports.

In two seasons at Diablo Valley College, Mauga-Clements tallied 82 tackles and 29.5 tackles for loss. This season alone, the linebacker racked up 23 stops for loss, seven sacks and forced a fumble.

With Mauga-Clements’ commitment, Nebraska is now up to 15 members in the 2020 class. The Huskers rank 29th nationally and seventh in the B1G. The Early Signing Period is Dec. 18.
