Nebraska announced a couple of changes to the 2021 schedule on Monday.

The big announcement came when the Cornhuskers announced that they will be facing Illinois overseas to start the 2021 season. It will be a Week 0 matchup with the game slated to take place in Dublin, Ireland.

With that game coming at the start of the season, that opened up a Nov. 13 date on the schedule that needed to be filled with a non-conference opponent. Nebraska announced Monday that FCS Southeastern Louisiana is the school added to the open slot on the schedule.

Brian Christopherson with 247 Sports shared the news:

According to FBSchedules.com, that game comes after games against Michigan and Iowa and just prior to games against Wisconsin and Minnesota. Though Nebraska’s options were probably limited for an open, mid-season date just two years away, adding an FCS opponent to break up the backend of a tough B1G schedule is likely a wise move.

Nebraska is slated to play Buffalo and at Oklahoma in non-conference play. The Cornhuskers will also see Ohio State, Michigan State, and Michigan in B1G crossover games during the 2021 season.
