Nebraska has reportedly added a home game to its 2029 schedule against an opponent from the Mountain West.

According to FBSchedules.com and On3’s Brett McMurphy, the Cornhuskers will face Nevada that year at Memorial Stadium. It will be just the second meeting between the two programs, with the Huskers beating the Wolf Pack 52-10 in Lincoln in 2007.

And, per the report, Nebraska will pay Nevada $1.6 million to play in the game.

Nevada has won just 7 games in the past 3 seasons, failing to make a bowl appearance since 2021. Jeff Choate was hired to lead the program ahead of the 2024 season and went 3-10 in his first season while going winless (0-7) in MW play. The program’s best season to date has been 2010, when Colin Kaepernick helped lead the Wolf Pack to a 13-1 record.

While Nebraska-Nevada is still a few years off, the 2025 edition of the Huskers hopes that their first bowl appearance since 2016 is a sign of things to come for the once-dominant program. That will mostly depend on the play of Dylan Raiola as he heads into his second season.

The Huskers open their campaign on Aug. 28 against Cincinnati at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.
