The 6-foot-4, 225-pound pass rusher totaled 129 tackles and 21 sacks over the last two seasons. Umanmielen also held offers from Arizona State, Arkansas, Florida, Kansas State, Minnesota, Mississippi, TCU, Utah, and Washington, among others.
Umanmielen’s commitment now adds the 18th name to Matt Rhule’s first recruiting class in Lincoln. Currently, the Huskers have a pair of 4-star talents, including fellow defensive lineman Riley Van Poppel from Argyle (TX). Nebraska also has 13 3-star players for the impending class.
In terms of the transfer portal, Rhule picked up the commitment of former Georgia Tech quarterback Jeff Sims and former Florida cornerback Corey Collier. According to 247Sports’ current team rankings, Nebraksa currently owns the No. 50 recruiting class.
