Nebraska CB abruptly leaves team

A Nebraska cornerback is leaving the team in search of more playing time elsewhere.

Nebraska cornerback Will Jackson, a JUCO transfer out of Mesa (Arizona) Community College, was reportedly unhappy with his spot on the depth chart and left the team Monday, according to Sam McKewon of the Omaha World-Herald.

“We appreciate the competition Will helped incorporate into the room and we wish him the best,” a spokesman told the paper.

Jackson was a late addition to Nebraska’s class of 2018, accepting a spot with the Cornhuskers in June. Originally a 2-star recruit in the class of 2015 out of Washington D.C., Jackson’s college career started with the Kentucky Wildcats. He redshirted his first season at UK, but was dismissed from the program in February of 2016 for violation of team rules.
