Nebraska coaching search: Lance Leipold addresses name being circulated for Husker vacancy

Nebraska’s coaching search is likely to feature a lot of candidates, and one name that has been floated in various reports is Kansas head coach Lance Leipold.
Leipold made a big rise during his coaching career while leading Wisconsin-White water before leading Buffalo from 2015-20. The Bulls went 37-33 during Leipold’s tenure with Kansas hiring Leipold prior to the 2021 season.
After a 2-10 mark in his first year, Leipold has the Jayhawks off to a 2-0 start this season. The culture appears to be shifting for Kansas, and his name is likely to come up for vacancies moving forward.
On Tuesday, Leipold addressed being connected to the Nebraska rumors, but it sounds like he is simply trying to block out the noise for now.

Leipold does have stops in the midwest and connections to the Huskers as a previous piece on Frank Solich’s staff. We’ll see if he becomes a serious candidate for the job down the road.
