As the date for opening kickoff approaches, more and more schools are confirming plans for full capacity for the 2021 college football season. Wednesday morning, Nebraska added to the list.

Nebraska confirmed its plans to have Memorial Stadium at 100% capacity for the 2021 season. The Huskers are hopeful to keep their sellout streak alive this fall — owning the sport’s longest at 375 consecutive games.

Because of the pandemic, Nebraska’s sellout streak was placed on hold in 2020. The B1G did not allow any general public attendance at football games last fall.

Several B1G programs and athletic departments around the country have confirmed plans to allow 100% capacity for fall sporting events in 2021. It’s also expected that events leading up to the game — including tailgating — will be permitted.

Nebraska won’t open the 2021 season in Lincoln, traveling to Champaign to play Illinois on Saturday, Aug. 28 for an important Week 0 showdown between B1G West foes. The Huskers will return home the following weekend to play Fordham to kickoff the home slate.

In addition to Fordham, Nebraska will also host Buffalo, Northwestern, Michigan, Purdue, Ohio State and Iowa at Memorial Stadium this fall.
