Nebraska can’t seem to catch a break. The latest debacle deals in the transfer portal where the program saw its 10th scholarship player enter the portal in the last two weeks.
Jimari Butler, an edge rusher from Mobile, Alabama is the latest to announce he is leaving Lincoln. Butler played in every game as a reserve in 2022, registering 9 tackles (5 solo).

Nebraska went 4-8 and lost 5 of their final 6 games to finish 6th in the B1G West division. The team fired head coach Scott Frost following a 1-2 start and saw its interim head coach, Mickey Joseph, get arrested on suspicion of assault last week.
Those could be a few of many reasons why Butler is looking to move on. Also, new head coach Matt Rhule is taking over in Lincoln. The former Carolina Panthers head coach has a tough task with all of these players deciding to move on shortly after the news of his hiring.
