Nebraska is trying to add some immediate help on its defensive line.
The Huskers could do that in a big way by landing Clemson graduate transfer Scott Pagano, who reportedly has Nebraska among his final seven teams.
247sports reported that the Clemson defensive tackle included Nebraska, Oklahoma, Cal, Oregon, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Texas and Arkansas among his final seven. Pagano reportedly narrowed that list down after 37 schools (five from the B1G) reached out to him.
He’ll set up official visits the next weekends before enrolling at his next school in May. As a graduate transfer, he’ll be eligible to play in 2017.

Nebraska could use a veteran like Pagano. The Honolulu, Hawaii native played in 12 games and started four during Clemson’s national title run. Pagano racked up 93 tackles, eight tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks in his career.
Rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle in the 2018 draft class, Pagano would have a chance to anchor the nose tackle position in the Huskers’ 3-4 defense under new coordinator Bob Diaco.
The Huskers lack experience at its interior defensive line spots. Carlos Davis and Mick Stoltenberg are the Huskers’ most experienced options up front, though neither of them match Pagano’s production.
