Nebraska is off and running vs. USC, and the first big play of the game was provided by none other than former Trojan Ceyair Wright.

USC and Nebraska both made some key adjustments coming into Week 12, including the Trojans starting Jayden Maiava at quarterback over Miller Moss. The offense stalled out quickly on the game’s opening drive under Maiava, but the 2nd drive was even worse.

Facing a 3rd-and-11, Maiava took a shot toward the sideline, but it was clear he and his receiver were not quite on the same page. The ball sailed with Wright in the right place to deliver an interception.

After the pick, Wright had a convoy of blockers and a clear path down the sideline to the end zone. It gave Nebraska a quick 7-0 lead from the defensive side of the ball.

Wright’s big play has to feel even sweeter as it is his first game back in LA since leaving the Trojans. He appeared in 23 games over 3 seasons at USC and has become a key piece for the Huskers this season.

Wright entered Saturday’s game with 28 tackles on the season, tying his career-high from 2022. The pick-6 is Wright’s 2nd interception of the season and his first career pick-6 to go with 5 pass breakups on the year, all career-high numbers for the defensive back.
