This season marks the 20th anniversary of Nebraska’s 1997 national championship team, and the program will be paying tribute to that group during Saturday’s game against Wisconsin.

On Tuesday, the official Twitter account of Nebraska football announced that the 1997 championship team will be honored during this weekend’s game against the Badgers.

The Huskers will be sporting special throwback uniforms to pay homage to the 1997 team. The championship trophy will be on display and several members from the team will be in Lincoln for the event.

Nebraska’s 1997 team finished the season with a perfect 13-0 record and topped off the season with a 42-17 win over No. 3 Tennessee in the Orange Bowl. That team is regarded by many to be one of the best college football teams of all-time.

It was also the final season for legendary head coach Tom Osborne.

Saturday’s game between Nebraska and Wisconsin is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET and will air on Big Ten Network.
