Nebraska now has its first commitment for the 2020 recruiting cycle as Alabama native Logan Smothers has pledged to join Scott Frost’s program.
The Athens, Ala., native is currently rated as a three-star prospect and has scholarship offers from UAB, Troy, Southern Miss and South Alabama. He’s visited Nebraska several times this spring, prior to making his decision. 247Sports Composite Rankings list Smothers as the nation’s No. 12 dual-threat QB prospect.
Smothers made his commitment public with the following tweet:
After a 13 hour road trip with the family and a whole day on campus with the coaching staff, I am extremely blessed to announce I am COMMITTED to the University of Nebraska!🌽🏈@coach_frost @Coach_Verdu @CoachChinander @HuskerFBNation #GBR #2020visioN pic.twitter.com/BPqf5MtWFL
