Nebraska is looking for a Year 3 breakthrough under Matt Rhule, and the Huskers are keeping strong results rolling on the recruiting trail.
On Monday, Nebraska landed a key piece for the 2026 recruiting class in the form of in-state linebacker Jase Reynolds. The in-state prospect committed to the Huskers over offers from Kansas State and Northwestern, among others.
Listed at 6-foot-2 and 206 pounds, Reynolds is one of the top Nebraska products for the 2026 recruiting class, checking in as the No. 9 overall player from the state on the 247 Sports Composite. Reynolds is a 3-star recruit out of Omaha’s Elkhorn North High School.
To this point, Reynolds is just the 4th hard commitment for Nebraska so far in the 2026 recruiting cycle. CJ Bronaugh, a 4-star safety from Florida, currently headlines the group that also includes Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of starting QB Dylan Raiola, who is himself a 3-star QB out of Georgia.
Reynolds is the first in-state piece for the Huskers in the 2026 recruiting class, and Rhule’s staff has lost a number of in-state players elsewhere this cycle. Of the top-10 players from Nebraska, 6 of them have already committed to Iowa State and another to Illinois.
For now, Reynolds is a solid addition as Nebraska looks to build out the rest of the class in the summer and beyond.
